Pan-American Championship Congratulations to the competitors who traveled to California at the end of March for the Pan-American Championship. Relson’s team from Columbus was represented well this year. Lane Andrews and Tom Feister fought well in their purple belt categories while Joe Creedon took the silver in the Rooster weight blue belt category and Professor Robin Gieseler took the silver medal in the Heavyweight black belt master category.

Andre Derizan Seminar On Tuesday, May 13^{th, Andre Derizan’s will host a seminar at our academy from 7-9 pm.}

One of Relson’s 1st black belts (he got his belt the same time as Jeff Hudson), Andre is a wealth of knowledge. He has trained extensively with the Gracie brothers, as well as Helio himself, and has taught jiu-jitsu all over the world. Don’t miss this opportunity! Just ask the guys who came to the last seminar. Andre is a technical master and he will improve your game no matter what level you are.

Brazilian BBQ Benefit/UFC Saturday, May 24th will be a fun-filled event at The Edge Fitness Center. We are having a Brazilian BBQ to support our competitors who will be traveling to the World Championships in California. The team is training hard and will no doubt represent very well.

The event will run from 6pm-9pm and will include some fantastic food and a raffle! After the feast we will be watching the UFC. We would love some more donations for the raffle, so anything you can get from your corporate friends or company (gift cards, tickets, t-shirts, etc.) would be greatly appreciated. The more the better!

We are not charging for the event so donate whatever you want to. All proceeds from the event will go to help offset the cost of the trip for our competitors. Remember, this is THE World Championships—a dream for any competitor. Next year it may be you going!

New Women’s Jiu-Jitsu Class Added: We are adding a new class for our women competitors only on Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:30 pm.
